I’ve not eaten shyte.
The one I ordered wasn’t bad.
I guess I described it as not that great. That’s a solid 6.8/10 for me.

Pretty much
It’s embarrassing that they call them donuts, I’ll take Krispy Kreme any day of the week.
I’m just here to defend all things burger and donuts, especially the combination of the two.
I’m against donut bashing
Even really crappy ones, like the ones they sell at McD’s .CA??
Doughnuts and bread are the two universal foods, or so it seems. Everywhere i have gone i think people have some form of baked (leavened or not) bread and fried doughnuts. Some places do not have beef, or fish, or fruit…
Wait, did Innuit have bread? They do now but did they before?
I have to think about this because i know it must be an overgeneralization, but it really seemed like i was on to something… But then it fell apart halfway through my post…
LOL!
I like burgers and I like donuts….but rarely if ever at the same time. Then there’s the combo burger with donut as bread buns. I doubt I’ll ever eat one, even stoned…because there’s plenty of way better stuff.

I was just speaking to my parents, who live in India. To celebrate my dad’s birthday, they went out to lunch at McDonald’s. They ate in the restaurant, with the birthday boy ordering a filet o fish AND chicken Mcnuggets AND a mango McSwirl.
McDonalds can be seen a lot differently overseas. I was in Indonesia during the Pro-Reformasi demonstrations back in 1998 and I ducked into a McDonalds in Surabaya when things got kind of crazy on the streets and it was like an oasis of calm. Parents had brought their kids there for what seemed like B-Day parties and everyone was enjoying themselves grandly.
And outside the windows the young people were demonstrating and the security forces were standing around looking as threatening as possible.
I lingered over my Beef Burger Deluxe and hung with the kids, not the demonstraters. Call me chicken if you will.
I still remember standing in line to order, telling myself over and over, “Order a BEEF BURGER, NOT A HAMBURGER!!” LOL!
I love it! Happy Birthday to your dad!
There was violence fueled by Hindu nationalists when the first McDonald’s opened in Mumbai, even though there is zero beef on the menu there were rumours that beef was used in prep of the French fries.
The fries used to be fried in beef tallow, but I think that’s not been the case for a while now.
Wow. Using beef in any form in India is monumentally bad judgement. I used to prefer beef tallow for fries but not when I was in a Hindu area.
Buffalo Wild Wings and Popeyes still use beef tallow I think, and when I used to eat fries I liked them a lot.
My parents personally aren’t fussed. They lived in the Midwest of the US for years and ate beef regularly in the US. They don’t eat beef in India because they are worried about the cleanliness of the meat prep. My dad almost exclusively buys chicken and goat from Hindu butchers who use the ‘jhatka’ method where the animal is dispatched quickly by cutting off its head. The chickens are usually still alive and clucking in a basket when he’s paying for them.
I think McDonald’s big booboo in India was to start off using fries that were pre-prepped with beef tallow.
There was a lawsuit in about the beef tallow years ago. It’s been vegetable oil in Canada ever since.
From May 2001
I forgot that it had been 6 Canadians who hired an American lawyer to launch the class action in the States
You’d think a giant corp like Mickey D’s would have a better research department and be less culturally insensitive
I hear you, but if your signature dish is a beef burger, it seems fair to use tallow in your fry prep. I used to go to Popeyes for their tallow fried fries as much as their chicken. Businesses should definitely change the prep type from beef tallow in Hindu countries, though.
This is similar, kind of, to the way they change the name of the hamburger to a beef burger in Muslim countries. But they should actually change the ingredients for beef averse cultures, if I worded that right.
The big thing, I believe, is to be honest about your product.
I think McD’s management kind of lost their way and paid the price for it on this issue.
