Lucky! My butcher Sanagan’s has a good ready-made sandwich that was $8 last time I ordered one. It costs more than a burger or sandwich at McD’s. A ready-made deli sandwich won’t be the fix for a burger craving for me, so it’s sort of comparing apples to oranges.
I don’t know of any $5 or $10 lunch deals in Toronto at the local butcher shops. Going rate for a good sandwich seems to be usually around $12 and up, everywhere, except for cheaper $5-$7 banh mi and Shawarma in some enclaves. $5 tacos, too, some places.
There is a butcher and sausage shop called Segovia Meats that makes a great and affordable Choripan (sausage in a bun sandwich, popular on Argentina, Uruguay and some other
South American countries), but I’m sure the salt, fat and calories in that Massive Choripan make the Big Mac look like health food.
