Brunch.
Scrambled eggs and chorizo, cocktail tomatoes drizzled with EVOO and a toasted English muffin on the side.
Corn salad w red onion and basil.
Sliced chicken breast with a mayo/sour cream , chives, tarragon, parsley sauce.
Ginormous chiogga beets from the FM today, vinaigrette, arugula.
Dessert was a lemon, peach, yogurt verbena cake, peach sauce and peach sorbet.
After an intense pickleball match (2:3 ) on a disgustingly hot & humid day, BLTs were in order.
A wonderful oxheart tomato, Kunzler’s thick-sliced, Aldi’s artisanal sammich bread, local lettuce, industrial strength mayo (yeah, we’re still ‘working’ on that massive Sam’s Club jar).
BLTs are always welcome CHOMP
Campbell’s took over Wolfgang Puck’s soups a long time ago. And killed off a couple of varieties, of course.
Wow that is a bargain!
I’m glad they’re out in the boonies.
Leftover pork from last night made for a nice open faced sandwich (w/brown gravy) for Sunshine (for lunch).
A repeat of last night’s dinner - jambon-beurre, with Campbell’s homestyle chicken noodle soup from a can.
Sunday’s brunch - this weeks leftovers: cremini mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and goat cheese with scrambled eggs. Topped with starting to fade parsley. Toasted Focaccia.
Looks good! Unfortunately it’s been a very lacklustre tomato season round these parts
I had a very large Yukon gold potato from the FM and decided to make oven fries with it. Turned oven on to 425* convection bake, peeled ( probably won’t next time) and sliced the potato into narrow fries. Add the potatoes to a cookie sheet and turned them in some olive. In they went and 15 minutes later I had golden, crisp taters. Also on the plate, red and green cabbage with red onion and a mustardy vinaigrette , pork tenderloin with some extra dressing from yesterday’s chicken.
Not great…they were very weak in flavor and lacking much meat.
BLT. Bc summer
So today we had a beginning and an ending as I forgot to take the main😩
The main was more of those oven fries, by special request, and salmon in soy, ginger, sesame seeds sauce.
Fab tomatoes with made in casa ricotta, basil, vinaigrette.
Dessert was a plum sorbet, the most beautiful magenta color, which did not photograph as such, but was delicious !
It looks amazing!
I made it last year as well and made a mental note to make it again as it was so good.
