Liziqi's Chinese knife

I’m watching yet another idyllic rural Chinese cooking channel on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoC47do520os_4DBMEFGg4A. The host frequently uses a knife I am not familiar with, as a slicer, a cleaver, and sometimes a garden machete. You can see it at 14:28 in this video: https://youtu.be/HyoWTJtp4a4.

Anyone familiar with this, or used one, or even know what it is called? The shape is significantly different than the one-piece all-metal cleavers in Chinese groceries in the US.

I found something similar here https://raknife.com/product/banyan/ (the vendor in fact has a very strange blog post about Liziqi), but have not seen it anywhere else. I think the product name is a trade name, not a traditional name.

I am definitely intrigued by this knife style, and how she uses it.

Liziqi’s channel is one of the best on youtube. I posted about her awhile back.

What other ones do you watch? I always watch 小九趣事 Xiaojiu Fun, it is a different style altogether but I love this family! (she cooks in each one as well) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZRfC3xKJEflM21xUryhkfg

You can buy the knife on her site but only a mini size is available right now:

Thanks for the link! I didn’t realize she had a store.

I have also been watching:
滇西小哥 Dianxi Xiaoge
我们的小喜 XiaoXi’s Culinary Idyll
二米炊烟 ErmiChuiyan

Dianxi is the one who lured me in to this genre.

You are welcome!

I subscribe to those as well. Liziqi is the one that lured me into this
Let me know if you check out Xiaojiu Fun, her family is precious!

It is a country style, rustic Chinese heavy cleaver. It isn’t a particular style per se.
