I’m currently based in Asia.
I’m probably a bit obsessed with coffee and coffee gear. I enjoy trying different brewing methods at home.
Having fresh oysters at a small seaside shack while watching the sunset. Simple food, but incredibly fresh and memorable.
I once tried making homemade pizza in my kitchen oven and completely burned the first one—but the second one turned out surprisingly good.
I love learning about different cultures and to me food is one of the best ways to experience. We are headed next to Andalusia Spain so looking forward to reading where others have found memorable meals
two memorable food experiences to share: Hisa Franko in Kobarid, Slovenia was an out of this world moment. The care, creativity and multi sense food in one of the most beautiful places in the world was just magical. And of course my mothers cooking - a woman who is not Italian but was raised in an large Italian & Polish community and could spin up a meal with little notice and few ingredients but feed a village is she needed to.
Asia’s a big place. Can you narrow it down, or are you always on the move?
At any rate, welcome to HO.

Hi Deb and welcome to the forum.
It’s pre-Covid when we were last in Andalucia, for any length of time other than day stops on a cruise, so I’ve no specific restaurant reccs for you. But check out Estepona. Whilst it is on the tourist map of the Costa del Sol, it’s probably the most “locals” place on the coast. Fantastic fried fish readily available.
