Well if there is such a thing as “food porn” then that my friend would be my “money shot”! Thank God it holds up well to delivery so I haven’t had to go without!! Kudos on your dining experience!!
I just have to say that because of your enthusiasm for this place over the years, I’ve always said if I ever make it to Asbury Park, NJ (which I seriously doubt), I’d be making a beeline for Jimmy’s. The menu looks great.
When I was young I wanted to write stuff like this for a living one day! ( For the unititiated, think Weird Al Yankovic )
Chorus
Spring has begun says the weatherman,
Winter is slow when it goes.
By the end of next week,
To stay on fleek,
Stop wearing those old winter clothes.
Now @seal the moderator is a friend of mine
He helps with the flags we see
And he’s quick with a joke or to offer a toke
But there’s someplace that he’d rather be
He says Notjr I believe this is killing me
As a smile ran away from his face
Well I could be a foodie review star
If I could get @sck out of this place
Oh, la-la-la de-de da
La-la de-de da da-da
Now @seal is a feline novelist
Who never has time for his lovely wife
And he’s talkin’ with CB70 who enjoys the levity
And hopefully will for awhile…
And the waitress is discussing politics
As the mod’s slowly get stoned
Yes they’re sharing a passion they call foodiness
But it’s better than eatin’ alone
Write us a story Hungry Onion-man
Write us a story tonight
Well we’re all in the mood for a delicacy
And you’ve gotta feed us alright…

While certainly not legal in Tejas I have found a place where as Jimmy Two Times said “get the papers, get the papers” and something to put in them. A local smoke shop.
It helps the arthritis.
Heh…CB70. I thought it was a Cannabinol 70 / CBD laid back California town of sunny San Rafael reference. Not quick after a toke is this bloke.
CB70 is brilliant
He’s no TB12, but thank you.
Oh baby…
My bad. Chicken Scarpariello.
Looks sooo good!
Funny. I had a conversation with my Dad regarding the pronunciation of Scarpariello. He leaves out the second ar. I always pronounce it like it is spelled Scarpariello. Which is it?
My old friend Gianni was born and raised in Italy, came here for college and stayed. He says that “swallowing” a syllable or letter is an American thing. In Italy, he says, it would be Cap - ih - co - la, not Gabagul like it is often heard here.
So, no correct pronunciation, just depends on where you are.
My understanding is that the way American Italians speak is an artifact of the Neapolitan/Southern Italian dialects, where they drop vowels at the end. Apparently it’s quite different from “standard” Italian.
I found the most effective way to speak Italian is by the following:
Take all five fingers on your dominant hand and bring all your finger tips together pointing upwards.
Take this hand and raise it up to chin level to mid waist while speaking……
Finally add a hard vowel to the end of a word, like this;
English:
What’s your name?
Italian:
What’s-A U Name-A?
(raise/lower arm repeat)
Reminds me of the old joke
How do you get an Italian to be quiet? Sit on his hands
Seriously though. Try the veal folks!!
Close, JR! But this is how it’s done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6dFEtb06nw
