Actually, if we carefully look at the title, it is not misleading at all. It states exactly that “N.Y. ditches gas stoves, fossil fuels in new buildings in first statewide ban in U.S”
I meant it was my impression that NY was not banning gas stoves; it only applied to new builds, and I quoted the title which I thought reflected that. I was disappointed that my original post did not reflect new installations.
I live in NY where the right-wing crackpots are up in arms about the “communist governor” taking away their gas stoves. The headline does, indeed, note that the ban applies only in new construction, but the URL leaves a different impression. For what it is worth, I recently switch from gas to electric and could not be happier.
Understood. I thought you were pretty clean, and the title of the article is also accurate. I forgot. You live in California (now), right? I believe Los Angeles is taking similar step too.
Yes, and as stated in the recent article, a similar measure was recently overturned in Berkeley or nearby.
Just curious. What cookstoves do you have? Not that it will affect you.
Personally, I’m liking induction more and more. I’ve slowly changed over most of my cookware to “induction ready” or “induction compatible”. I still need an “induction” pressure cooker… next time they go on sale, I’ll pick one up.
I’ve cooked on gas in the past, but do like induction better.
Viking gas. This is my second Viking gas, and between them I cooked on an induction burner. It was interesting, but I remember a bit of a learning curve.
Nice
