How Miyabi knives are made

This is a sponsored video, unfortunately I’m not the one who is sponsored by Zwilling, but the Danish chef with Turkish origin, Umut Sakarya is.

It’s one of the better made production videos I’ve seen where you see many details of how the Miyabi knives are made.

Even the handles on the Miyabi knives are hand made and not made by a robot.

The edge and blade is also hand made, hand polished and finalised by hand and not only specially picked for this sponsor supported video.

I have always been a fan of Miyabi knives and this Danish made video has only confirmed my bias.

One thing I like about Miyabi knives is the warranty and ease of return …etc. I must have bought three Miyabi knives for gifts. The first time I bought a Miyabi knife for gift…I believe I bought it from Sur La Table (could have been William Sonoma). There is something good about giving someone a gift that they have the option of easily returning if it is broken. Yes, the chance is very low, but there is this option. Moreover, at the time, Sur La Table often free knife sharpening (once a year?) for the Miyabi knives.

Nice to see so many women interested in working in the field.

Good video with some nice knowledge. Normally I don’t have very high thoughts about chefs who become advertising people. And I do feel that Umut (as well as many other good chefs) have fallen deep down that hole.

That doesn’t take anything away from Miyabi though.
