How do you Meat Pie?

I’m trying to replicate a kidney (not steak and kidney) pie that I used to get in Uganda, at a restaurant owned by the parents of another Ismaili friend. I’m wondering if anyone here has a proven recipe; my friend being Muslim, it cannot have had pork or alcohol in it. Those meat pies were amazing!

Does anyone use mushroom ketchup ?
