Just had three well done, fantastic, heavily griddled, natural casing, all beef dogs from Fulton Hot Dog King in Downtown Brooklyn.

That’s all.

I have never had a homemade chile dog. They’re a treat when I visit a state that has good chile dogs.

It’s worth making your own; I bought the best dogs I could find at WF.

We tried Sabrett’s Hot & Spicy hot dogs for dinner last night: https://sabrett.com/products/hot-dogs/sabrett-hot-spicy-beef-frankfurters-jalapeno-14-oz-8-ct/

Not bad, not great. Decent spice kick makes up for its other faults. Nathan’s Jalapeno are still my favorite spicy hot dog, but sadly I can’t get them in a reasonable quantity anymore as my Restaurant Depot stopped carrying them: https://www.foodservicedirect.com/nathans-famous-jalapeno-and-cheese-franks-100-per-case-21406874.html

sorry, but… surely the order is ketchup on the bun, sausage in next, then drizzle with mustard, and top with fried onions and/or cheese??

Ketchup on sausages and hot dogs is polarizing in some parts of the world.

Bun soaked with ketchup is not a good thing for me! (I don’t add ketchup to hot dogs or burgers, regardless. I add it to some BBQ sauces and Baked Beans while cooking, I do not eat ketchup a condiment on its own )

Ketchup, mustard, raw onion. The Platonic ideal of a hot dog. Squishy, cottony bunz, too.
