I saw some stollen muffins that looked good as I’m unfortunately, not a big fan of stollen itself. KAB has a recipe.

I’m trying to remember if I’ve made this - if not, I’d like to!

It’s excellent, and best on day two and beyond. (In the headnote, Luisa Weiss says the almond flavor is just light background, but it definitely develops over time.)

Is it bad manners to gift a cookie box after Xmas? Kinda, but I did it anyway; I dropped off a box today at my plant nursery/veg CSA provider before they close for their annual 3-month winter hibernation.

I’m also going to do something I’m not sure I’ve ever done: ship some! The fruitcake cookies are still very fresh and they are quite long-lasting, so I’ll ship some to a friend tomorrow.

No. Maple syrup, cream and salt are brought to a boil and butter is wisked in until melted. Cornstarch is added and brought to a simmer. This is cooled and egg yolks and an egg plus some cider vinegar is wisked in. This can be refrigerated up to 24 hrs.

I found the maple syrup pie recipe reprinted here. @Stef_bakes, can you tell me how much heavy cream is called for in the filling? The number is missing in this reprint.

I just put as much detail as possible in my search. In this case, my input was “america’s test kitchen the perfect pie maple syrup pie recipe.” Of course it turned up links to the recipe on ATK, but since their site is paywalled, I was happy to find an official reprint,
