I use @Amandarama ‘s method since I like my feta crumbled on top of my salads anyway. If I really need to cut it into cubes I just use a plain ol’ knife and cutting board.
This type of feta used at this particular restaurant is creamy, not crumbly. It slices better than the crumbly type of feta.
The better Greek restaurants on Toronto tend to use Dodonis feta or other similar fetas, and keep them in a slab in their village salads lately
The fact of stays in a slab without crumbling, is an indication that it’s the creamy type, not the crumbly type.
The Greek salad that is made with lettuce and tomatoes usually has a few crumbles of feta on top, at the same restaurant. The slab only comes with the village salad (horiatiki)
Some restaurants use cubes of feta in their village salad (horiatiki ) or other Greek lettuce salads.
This slab was about 1/4 of an inch of thick. Some restaurants use a thicker slab, roughly 1/2 inch thick.
Italian tuna in olive oil, romaine, marinated tomatoes and cucumbers, pickled veg.
Trying to see how much weight I can shed in the next 3 months before I decide whether I jump on the Ozempic train or not

How do you make your’s?
In this particular smoothie I used a half a pound of strawberries, one scoop of whey protein powder and a cup of milk. The recipe calls for using a cup of berries but it’s hard measuring out one cup of whole berries unless you cut them up. Also I love berries so I tend to be a little heavy handed with the berries. When I use strawberries I usually buy a 1 lb container and use half one morning then I use the other half the next morning. Raspberries and blackberries come in 170g containers (1 pint I think?) so if I use either of those berries I toss in the entire pint. Also, I usually use cows milk but you can use whatever milk you wish (soy milk, oat milk, etc).
Is the chocolate flavoring from the whey powder?
Cute sippy cup!
Yes it’s chocolate flavoured protein powder.
Thank you I got it as a promotional offer at White Cross Dispensary on Elgin a few years ago. It’s from Sisu and they had a promotion at the time if you buy a container of their whey protein powders you get the sippy cup. I’ve since changed brands but I still have the sippy cup.
Exactly. Creamy feta in a slab. I don’t want crumbly feta, and the feta that is naturally crumbly doesn’t slice like that. As an aside, I never buy already crumbled feta. Grrrr.
I just bought some Krinos Bulgarian feta in a tin, they don’t call it feta, they call it “Bulgarian, white brined cheese” for some unknown reason, but it’s def feta . Huge chunk, very creamy and easy to slice into smaller pieces for storage.
I prefer the creamy stuff, too.
I like this kind
Because it has to be Greek to be feta, like it has to be from a particular region to be champagne.
Otherwise it’s brined white cheese or sparkling white wine.
I think I read that some countries don’t pay attention to the protected designation. The US, of course, but I think French feta is called feta.
I’m not finding any evidence that France is exempt from the ruling. Are you?
Meh, Greek mafia bs
It’s the whole EU!
