Guess what's cooking!

Those of you who regularly participate in the WFD thread will likely have an easy time with this, as I’m a creature of habit and seem to always make the same ole stuff

But many of my fellow HOs are more adventurous & creative (or maybe they’re just better at following recipes :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:) — so I thought it might be fun if we shared parts of our mise (not all of it, we don’t want it to be too easy) here & have people guess what’s cooking.

Who wants to play? No betting/gambling allowed

Really? How 'bout now?

A Thai curry, maybe vegetarian since I don’t see an animal protein. Also, can’t tell what the white stuff left of the red chiles is. With the eggplant I’m sure it will be tasty, with plenty of heat! Fun game! Thai green curry.

I’m thinking Thai too - peas, peppers, lime, coconut milk, chillies, ginger, garlic, basil, shallots, soy sauce, some sort of stock, don’t know what is in the little can that is opened???

Maesri green curry paste, and yes — you were both right!

go Lambchop53!

You’re a better person than me! My mise is usually all the chopped things chopped, with a cluster of tins and bottles for the rest.

Beautiful!

This was after the cats had been removed from the kitchen, as I’d never be able to leave out the coconut milk, the curry paste, the shrimp, etc.

Our MW has become a popular intermittent storage place for my mise since we got these hellions :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

When I have to hide a pie or something to keep it from getting eaten (by a human) before guests arrive, I put it in the dryer.

That’s hilarious! I hope you never forget it’s there before doing laundry

How 'bout this one?

If that were at my house it would be fried rice

My first thought is that it would make a good pasta dish, with an Alfredo like sauce. Waiting for the big reveal!

AI calls this “piselli e funghi” ?

@Sunshine842 that would be a nice mise for fried rice, agreed!! I should really add ham to my next fried rice, but this wasn’t that

@Lambchop53 & @rosyred: bingo!

Cubed ham is one of my staples. Omelets, stir fries, tortilla espanol, salads…its easy to chuck a handful in for flavor and reasonably lean protein.

Dinner for me is spinach and mushroom ravioli with butter, romano, amd TPStOG
