GREEK - Summer 2021 (Jul-Sept) Cuisine of the Quarter

Greek night at our house last night. A rack of lamb for each of us, a Greek salad, and a very untraditional pilaf. The racks of lamb were done in the slow cooker, due to the last lamb we bought being (unfortunately) tough. They were delicious this way, and everything tasted great.

Looks wonderful! We gotz some lamb on the menu for tonight, but not Greek. Greek-ish, mabez, if we add a dash of cinnamon to the pasta sauce

So you are making a ragu maybe?

Seems to be a Greek theme for us this week. Gyros last night, with some leftover pilaf (not pictured)

Lovely! I usually crave Greek food more in the summer months, but of course there are so many wonderful winter dishes (like youvetsi).

My first batch of Paximadia, flavoured with orange juice, cinnamon and vanilla. Based on Eleni Saltas’ recipe.

Tsoureki Paximadia

We had Greek night again on Saturday while watching the Seahawks game. Just like the Greek Festival lol. Pork souvlaki, Greek fries, and Greek salad. For dessert, there was leftover baklava from the holidays, and a new to us cookie, with orange and walnuts - texture was between a cookie and a scone, and they were weirdly addictive, and not too sweet. Biscotakia me Meli. I will make these again, possibly with a few tweaks.Sorry no pics or links.
