Heading to Grand Bend in a few weeks any favourites; breakfast/coffee, lunch, dinner, desserts. Anything really.
Sadly, F.I.N.E. burned down last summer. That was my go-to restaurant in Grand Bend for twenty years.
I haven’t dined anywhere in Grand Bend recently. Quite a few places that had been in business for years closed over the past 4 years.
I also had a dinner at the restaurant in the Dark Horse Winery in 2018. The restaurant at the winery closed shortly after my visit and I believe a new one has taken its place.
The main strip in Grand Bend has chains like Chuck’s and Crabby Joe’s now, as well as a Chinese restaurant, and Midori, a Japanese restaurant.
Midori and The Lake Hound are relatively new and look promising.

Oakwood Resort, a few minutes north of town, has a restaurant. My godmother lives in Grand Bend, and she has been going to Oakwood for dinner occasionally.
…
Zurich is around a 10 minute drive north of Grand Bend.
The The Muse Restaurant at the Hessenland Inn in Zurich has good German food. We have been going there for 40 years.
…
Bayfield is a 20 minute drive north of Grand Bend. Bayfield has more upscale dining options, and more patios with better and/or healthier food.
I visit the Black Dog Pub in Bayfield a few times a year. I like it a lot. Black Dog Pub in [Bayfield, Ontario]
The Little Inn in Bayfield is good for an upscale lunch or dinner. I haven’t been recently. From 2002-2019, I usually dined at The Little Inn once or twice a year.
I haven’t tried the 1851 Bayfield Landing, a newish restaurant on the site of the old Red Pump Restaurant, yet. It’s a bistro.
I understand the Albion Inn in Bayfield, which is cheaper than the 3 I’ve mentioned, has a nice back patio.
There’s also a brew pub in Bayfield.
There are 2 places for coffee, tea and lattes in Bayfield. I often buy coffee beans at the Shopbike coffee that’s a coffee shop/ bike shop/ candy shop. Hive is the other place selling coffee and lattes. It’s both a coffee shop and clothing store.

Benmiller, near Goderich, is a 25-30 minute drive north of Grand Bend.

South of Grand Bend
I had lunch at MacPherson’s an old school family restaurant/ diner near Port Franks, 5 or 6 summers ago, and it was good for that sort of dining.
The Pinery Market happens on Sundays, and my mushroom and garlic people from St Mary’s sell their goods their each Sunday.

Good food shops relatively close to Grand Bend
Metzger Meats in Hensall is fairly close, in case you want to pick up bacon or other meat.
Hayters in Dashwood also has a shop, where they sell turkey products and other regional food.
Enjoy Grand Bend and vicinity!
This is fantastic. Thank you.
Disappointing that there isn’t a decent cup of coffee in GB itself; it is what it is. I’ll try the local spots anyway.
I decided to search online. You’re in luck. There are 3 indie coffee shops in Grand Bend. I had no idea.
I will visit Highway Girl in Grand Bend later this month.
The Lake Hound also makes lattes.
Plus McD’s and Tim’s.
Haha yes I googled myself. Thanks though.
