Garbage Frozen Food…

The ones I bought at Loblaws are Chef Bombay which are made in Alberta. https://www.chefbombay.com/

I like the Indian Life brand sold at Whole Foods in Toronto.

To save time I’ve relied on frozen vegetables (usually Birdseye) but was usually disappointed as they can get pretty mushy in the microwave. The packages don’t list it as a cooking method but I started steaming them one day. 180° difference!!! Not as good as fresh, of course, but a passable substitute with way less work involved. YMMV of course.

What’s your steaming method like?

I just put them into the top pot of my steamer frozen. After a couple of minutes I add salt, pepper and usually some garlic powder. When they’re done (maybe 6-8 minutes (depending on what I’m steaming) I add butter and often some EVOO. The only issue I have is that they cool quickly when done that way. I’ll sometimes pour off the water and keep them on a low heat if I need to.
