In all my years, I’ve never had this happen. I like Happy Eggs, nice dark orange yolks. Carton has been in refrigerator, dated October 24.
I had 4 eggs left and all the yolks were already broken when I cracked the shell. I tossed out.
My new carton of Pete & Gerry Pasture raised are fine.
A little melted American cheese on top.
Oh, I do hate that too, unless I am making a sandwich.
I like the Pete and Gerry’s, get the 18 count from BJ’s.
They poach up very nicely.

I prefer dozen but this was 18, good price from WF.
We’re the other eggs too old?
I do think that they break when they are old. I eat a fair amount of eggs, (2-3 a day) so they don’t sit too long in the fridge. I am more vigilant about the dates.
I like local eggs but at $6-8.00 per dozen, it gets expensive.
