Fresh yeast in cooking

I usually use fresh yeast to make bread, small dose is required, shelf life is short. I know it can be kept in freezer, but H kept buying new ones and forgot those in the freezer, and now I have a lot. Can it be used as an ingredient in cooking? I remember seeing dry yeast used in certain dish on a TV show but forget what. Have you tried that? What dishes you recommended using that?

Appreciate ideas of it either as a raising agent or just its taste in dishes. Thanks.
