Foods under the Influence

Do you have any favorite foods to eat when your consciousness is altered? (Interpret as you will.) Are there flavors or texture you gravitate to?

Some fun recent food/drink experiences:

Pickled spicy okra (the seed texture is wild)
White chocolate
Thin cantina-style tortilla chips with salsa
Spicy virgin bloody Mary
Lemon tonic water (holy crap, this was intense!)
Chocolate rugelach (so shatteringly crisp)
Claussen pickle juice

I personally crave really spicy, vinegary, and salty foods.

I’m afraid the only craving is a nap! I wouldn’t trust myself to use a knife or torch. Those under the influence days are well behind me.

Fresca and TJ’s lemon elderflower soda are both big wins!

In college at Ohio State - Cincinnati Chili at a Skyline Chili Parlor or refried bean tostados at a Mexican place within staggering distance of our apartment. Fried clams in the summer when we moved to Cape Cod.

Those days are in the rear view mirror. If I drink too much now, I can barely eat anything. Alcohol is not my friend. I wish we had never met. We have an on-again, off-again relationship…

Shoarma!
But obviously I’m not going to make it myself in that state.
Anything savoury will do. Peanuts, paprika chips, nachos, but also a good curry, meatballs, left over pizza
