It’s just sooooo sweet. I can’t deal.
That’s why I use but a dusting on the bottom of the cup
Dust? The kittehs are expert in dust. Maybe stirring eith a dipped tail would work.
For coffee I use a cube of la Perruche.
I’ve lost interest in these 2 dishes I sought out in my 30s and early 40s:
Fried chicken sandwiches. These were very popular in Toronto about 10 years ago, at restaurants with table service as well as at take-out restaurants. The Nashville hot chicken sandwiches and some variations on that theme continue to be popular at some international and some local fast food take-out joints. Some are indie take-out joints, some are regional take-out joints with a handful of locations, and some international corporate chains.
I ordered a fried chicken sandwich from a regional take-out joint last week and I don’t think I’ll order any more.
Chicken and waffles were also a very trendy brunch in Toronto for a while. I have never been a waffle person, so plain fried chicken or fried chicken sandwiches were my jam.
Fish tacos and Shrimp Tacos
I sought out fish tacos for a good 10-12 years. I was updating long threads on both the NYC and Toronto Chowhound boards for years. I don’t know why, but I have zero interest now.
At places selling tacos, I usually will choose carnitas, carne asada, or al pastor, or try something new. I’m not drawn to seafood tacos anymore. I’m also not drawn to chicken tacos.
Interesting
I had meant to post that along with my comment but unfortunately neglected to do so.
It’s okay- more for me
At age 6n I was a fan, as it was my grandma’s “special” soda for her diabetes.
I drink maybe a soda every 2-3 months, but I still like grapefruit sodas (Fresca is decent but Jarritos grapefruit is bomb.)
Surely I’m not the only one who has gone off red meat, octopus, or lobster.
Not I.
I’m off octopus, but I was never really a fan, even before I saw how intelligent they are.
No octopus for me, I quit before I saw “My Octopus Teacher”, and even cried a bit at the end when i watched it. Even the thought bothers me now.
Do either of you eat pork?
Yes, and I know where you’re going with that. I’m horrified that they do that.
I don’t know what that means. Who are “they?”
My question was relating to both animals’ superior intelligence.
That, and the practice of putting hogs in cages that severely limit their movement. They appear to build the metal cage around the hog. It’s horrible.
Much as I miss city life, the advantage of living in the boonies are many small farms who raise their pigs and cows and chickens humanely.
I’ve not been able to purchase any supermarket pork since I watched Okja — not that I wasn’t already aware of the horrors of industrial farming, but it was the last straw for me.
Have you tried Ting, the Jamaican soft drink? It’s got some grapefruit in it.
https://www.jamaicating.com/
There used to be a soda called Wink in Canada, that contained grapefruit, that’s no longer available.
I don’t like grapefruit typically, but I don’t mind Ting.
I haven’t done a 180 on any food . Its more about what I feel like that day . It might take years for that dish to come back around . I say . " I forgot how good this is ."
We used to have Wink in the states.
