I’m working on multiple projects and multiple knives right now, but I’ve finally finished the 230mm sword-tip sujihiki! Since this isn’t a knife you’d typically pinch grip, I moved the balance a bit back into the front of the handle for better control and precision. The knife is personalized with a single initial on the back of the blade. The picture with the dime shows the rounded spine and blade thinness at the sword-tip, and it’s sitting on top of the stock piece of D2 I used. (If I’m going to do more of these then I’m going to have to start with thinner stock! ) The steel is hardened to 61HRc and the Zebrawood handle has 5 coats of tung oil. The customer picked out the wood but let me choose the mosaic pin fill color, so I used a red fill this time.
I’m excited to get feedback from the customer on this one!
