Favorite food tunes

Based on a Jerry Lewis routine (yes, that is him in the song) and featuring my favorite foodie line in any song, “I don’t want chicken that tastes like wood.”

The Noisy Eater by The Avalanches.

I remember Robert Preston’s ‘Chicken Fat’ from elementary school P.E. classes. We’d gather in the auditorium/cafeteria in a big circle and do the routine. This was before the dress code changed. Not great in skirts and dresses.
I see the chicken dance all over the place and strangely at the local Oktoberfest events. We even have it in our water aerobics class sometimes. Bok bok, buggok!

Not a food tune. That said, Cajun music and cuisine will always resonate for us.

That’s a real nice song.

I see you also reviewed the Lodge - I’ve forgotten my meals there, but it’s still just the very best. That view has my heart. You got a great picture of it!

Thanks! Nancy took that photo. She’s much better.
She went with her buddies. I went to NC to eat barbecue

My thanks to @Mr_Happy, whose post showing off his gumbo also linked to the recipe… which came with a playlist! From there:

Sonia Tetlow - Mr. Okra

It seems Mr. Okra was Arthur Robinson, an old-style street vendor who sold fresh produce, and apparently the subject of a children’s book, and who had roles in both a music video and the movie Benji.
