apparently ‘Dubai Chocolate’ was/is a euphemism for something very wrong involving trafficking and exploitation.

Perhaps it was those rumors that inspired ipse to make a literal shit post in a chocolate thread.

At least one hopes that was the inspo…

new at Canadian Starbucks.

Hot Dubai Chocolate Matcha might have been a better idea for January 2026!

There is now “Dubai” pasteis de nata (amongst many other modern flavours) in Lisbon.

Only traditional nata for me, in rainy Lisbon. I have tried 2 different pastei de nata producers today. My sugar tolerance is much lower than most people so enough for 1 day.

Seen (and purchased) at Aldi today. We’ll see what it’s like.

One of my kids just went on a trip to Madrid and brought home several of the bars below. They’re milk chocolate and definitely on the overly-sweet side, but a good 1/2" thick and by far the most generous with filling of any commercial version I’ve seen. (Actually looks like the photo on the box!) The shocking bit, for me: He paid a mere 2 EUR each for them. Europe FTW.

It won’t be over until we see Dubai chocolate pretzels and Dubai chocolate bath bombs. And possibly not even then.

Candles.

YAY IT’S DONE
