Just goes to show that there is no lack of stupid food ideas.
I will try them if I ever see them.
Felchlin is not very widely available in the US. Chef Rubber had been carrying it for a bit, now I think it’s back to only Albert Uster. I buy by the case for business, really like their Edelweiss white. @BarneyGrubble where are you buying Felchlin and in what format?
That’s kind of genius! It’s microwave mug cake, breakfast edition.
World Wide Chocolate – where I order mine – has it: https://worldwidechocolate.com/product-category/felchlin/
Having enjoyed a pineapple-habanero gummy, I can imagine the appeal of the combination. That said: Not sure what to make of any of those foods posted which live on a a scale of “probably not” to “wtf”.
Gummy ≠ tortilla chip
@babette I buy Felchlin from a quirky Swiss clock shop in Montreal on Crescent Street. It’s in the form of “callets” (the term used by Callebaut). Interestingly, Valrhona uses the term “pistoles” for the same format.
You can drink hot chocolate there while admiring cuckoo clocks ![]()
That said, the last time I bought some was years ago; I assume the shop is still there. I’m long overdue for a trip to Montreal.
Valrhona calls their pieces ‘feves’, although they have switched their Inspiration line away from their signature bean shape to just a round deposited dose.
I do need to get to Montreal at some point in my life!
Back on topic … about half of the things I see at Grocery Outlet ![]()
Because I know it’s made of beef, this Chocolate Peanut Butter Meaties cereal looked like it was ready to be put into a hard taco shell. A deeper smell test yielded dry pet food vibes.
Yes it’s real. I had to look at the date to make sure it wasn’t April 1.
Well that decidedly beats the lemonade cereal.
Hard pass
I’d buy one can, just to try it.
Carrot Cake wants to be new Pumpkin Spice ![]()
My friend said the same thing yesterday!!! I suppose the seasoning is somewhat similar?
Both rely on cinnamon and nutmeg, sometimes ginger and cloves. So yeah, it pretty much the same. Most pumpkin spice things don’t have any actual pumpkin in them anyway.
The spring/summer version.
