COTM Nominations! (July-Seotember 2025)

It’s nomination time for the next quarter’s COTM. The experiment of moving to a quarterly, rather than monthly, system seems to have been successful. There has definitely been more participation, and at least one of the sources being online seems to have helped a lot. Let’s keep that in mind as we nominate this time, as I think it makes it easier for more people to participate and cook along. I’m still interested in using books too, and open to all suggestions. I’m also interested in author months, when we explore different books from a single cookbook writer. We’ll go with 2 separate threads for the July-September quarter. Please toss ideas into the ring with abandon – the more things we have to think about, the more interesting it will be.

To nominate, put the title of the book in ALL CAPS in the comments below. Titles not in all caps will not be counted.

You can nominate as many books/websites as you like but please nominate with the intention of cooking along should your nominee be selected.

Whichever 2 get the most nominations will be the books/websites we’ll cook from. If there is a tie, we will have a run off vote. Nominations will close on Friday, June 27th.

A list of previous cookbooks of the month can be found in our archive thread . Always remember that we love seeing old COTM threads pop up, so keep cooking from those books and websites and keep posting!

I would be very interested in a JULIA TURSHEN QUARTER, although I’m going to be away quite a bit in the next 3 months. I will try to do as much cooking from that as possible, and would definitely do more after September.

JULIA TURSHEN QUARTER

MEERA SODHA QUARTER (she writes a column for the Guardian UK, too)

DIANA HENRY QUARTER

Yeah, I could absolutely get behind both a MEERA SODHA quarter and a DIANA HENRY quarter.

Both have lots of recipes online, too.
