Should dried chiles be washed at any point?
I slit them, remove seeds, press in a hot pan then soak in boiling water before blending and sieving.
But wonder about the fact that I’m not wasting them first?

If they’re larger-rather-than-smaller (anchos/guajillos/pasillas versus costeños/chilcostles/árboles), I usually wipe them off with a damp paper towel…
