“Kraft Heinz and the Kraft Heinz PAC do not support Presidential campaigns, judicial candidates, super PACs or make contributions to independent expenditure committees, which is defined as money spent to support a political candidate, but not at the suggestion or request of the candidate, the candidate’s authorized committee or a political party.”
You’re kidding, right? She’s just the re-married, rich widow of a Heinz family member, who has no power, capitalizes on her famous last name and makes dumb, tone deaf, rich people comments.
Excuse me, I believe I clearly said I’m not offering that as an explanation of their stance. However there is a clear political “tie” with the company. Once again I CANNOT answer on their behalf. That clear now?
I think we now or will soon have our very own here in the outback. I saw ads!
I’ll have to try it just to see, but I’m not a chicken sandwich guy so this whole deal is slightly weird to me.
Love chicken. Love sandwiches. Not real fond of chicken sandwiches
The beauty of HO and why I love spending time here is you’re all from different parts of the world, the home cooks have a wide variety of knowledge, are really passionate and greatly inspire my cooking, and most are super friendly, inviting and folksy in a good way. On the flip-side our geographical differences are also the reason for differing politics and contentious debates - it’s an interesting HO phenomenon. There’s some who seem to wait for a moment to interject their political views into the dialogue. Something I’m not used to on a food board where I come just to geek out with other food geeks. It’s the reason I’m not on Facebook or Twitter. Know thyself. Politics gets me riled up and I don’t want to spend time here being agitated. No offense to @Harters because it’s a really good thread and a good debate. I’m just thinking maybe I should’ve spent my first day back catching up on the WFD thread. This one is giving me bad thoughts like wishing I’d seen the wall bouncing fall corvette_johnny took down those stairs!
And yet you dragged this thread back up over a month later to moan and groan and b*tch about this and that.
Not sure why, but I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day.
ChickFilet may well have a special kool aid on their menu to help you chill! And no, not talking about a Jim Jones kool aid in the least. Just something to render you apolitical… BUT never trust the kool aid…

None taken. And had I appreciated the way the thread would develop, I’d never have started it. It had seemed to me a minor, innocuous bit of local news from small town England.
You’re a thoughtful person and you’re right, it’s an interesting and seemingly innocuous piece, perfect to post on a FOOD board. We Americans are very divided right now and everything is politicized - race, sexuality, the environment, guns, food, you name it. We’ve become hostile and insensitive to others‘ views and can’t disagree without losing our manners. Apologies.
I didn’t realize Barilla was a prejudiced brand. I had already stopped buying it due to not liking it much, but I’ll be sure not to buy it again no matter how much I need to buy pasta
I have a patent pending on a bourbon epipen for emergency use by careless individuals whose BAC has dipped below .25. If you’re interested in being one of the original investors let me know.
