We had a fantastic meal at this bustling Southern Thai place, thanks to @fooddabbler’s recommendation in my (admittedly wide-cast and extremely vague ) inquiry for a dining suggestion “somewhere between the UWS and Chelsea.”
Lo and behold, the suggestion could not have been better
The place was absolutely hopping, but we had a nice table for our party along the wall near the kitchen entrance. Immediately upon entering, we were hit with the intoxicating aromas of chilies, lime leaves and fish sauce, and the dishes on the tables we passed only made us hungrier
We split two orders of the day’s stir-fried greens between the six of us, which were garlicky and savory and crisp.
I chose the crab curry with fried soft shell crab, as my initial choice of duck confit wasn’t available. The curry was incredibly flavorful and rich, with good crab flavor, a nice amount of lump crab meat & the perfect level of heat
My PIC and another friend of ours got the fried pork belly with dipping sauce (very reminiscent of the moo krob at the Thai place in Berlin we’re obsessed with),
another the duck leg atop a very mild massaman curry, and the remaining two eaters a soup similar to tom yum — apparently a bit too spicy for one of them
It was probably the best Thai food I’ve had in the US (besides LoS in LV), and it came pretty close to our favorite in Berlin.
Thanks again, @fooddabbler, for providing us with the most satisfying and delicious meal during this very brief, not at all well-planned visit
