Carina Sorella [Bryn Mawr, PA]

The closest branch of my house dispo happens to be in Bryn Mawr, so we took a lil road trip out & combined it with lunch at Carina Sorella, a modern, light & airy Italian café on what I can only assume is the main strip.

The place was recommended in a Philly phood subreddit, and I can emphatically confirm this to anyone traveling through the area.

Against better knowledge, we ordered 2 sandwiches, anticipating that one would likely suffice: the prosciutto cotto with burrata & pistachio pesto on focaccia,

and the deluxe grilled cheese on milk bread with Taleggio and a sunny-side up egg.

Both came with extra-crispy potatoes that were reminiscent of SE’s recipe, and a healthy pile of arugula, just lightly dressed with lemon, and few shards of parm scattered atop.

We managed to finish the grilled cheese (barely) and took half of the focaccia home for a future lunch.

The lunch & dinner menus offer a small variety of pasta dishes and pizza, and the bar looked to have a nice selection of gins. The service was prompt and friendly.
