It sort of looks like my black walnut bowl, but it is made of pieces glued together.
I should have mentioned that it’s fairly lightweight. I would almost describe it as thick papyrus with a waterproof coating, but that can’t be right.
I wonder if it is something like these woven wood bowls. I used to have a set of salad bowls and little dipping bowls. All I have left is a couple of the little ones.
mahogany would be my guess - turns well, light weight, stable . . .
