BTB bases are a staple for me. I’d not tried the Ham version before. Thumbs down for me. Unless you really like smoke, skip this one. I had only a small ham bone when making 3 quarts of lentil soup. Fortunately I only used a small amount of the base, so the broth was too weak. I “beefed” it up with chicken base, as I’d always done previously.
Big +1! Uber smokey, yet grimmacingly salty. I NEVER use this stuff as ham stock, only as a little boost if I’ve screwed up.
Even then a demiglace would curdle your brain.
