So, I have an annual gift book exchange with a a friend who shares my birthday. After about the first 20 years, we just started asking each other for whatever book we wanted.
This year, I’m drawing a complete blank. I’m thinking it should be culinary, but not necessarily a traditional cookbook. I’m not much interested in remembrances and celebrity chefs’ installments. Cultural treatments are AOK. But it should be something that (you think) will be accessible in a practical way, and stand the test of time.
