Anyone know what makes DELI tuna & chicken salad special?

Hardly. Although I certainly am not advocating for the use of trans fats. People who keep kosher have to use non-dairy fats (i.e., no butter) with meat meals. And not everybody likes oil on bread. I would bet you that pretty much anyone who keeps a kosher home - then and now - uses some sort of solid butter substitute.

What kind of oil is NOT the result of a human-made process? Olive oil doesn’t just fall out of olives, you know.

As mom used to say, “hemlock is natural, but I wouldn’t eat it” (still says it at 94

To clarify. When I say “natural fats” - I mean that fats that are produced of course by humans in a natural way. Meaning they are either COLD PRESSED or RENDERED. The manmade or unnatural fabricated fats use processes like high pressure extraction, adding chemicals and solvents to create flowable and deodorized results. You see in order to copy natural fats, these toxic fats that don’t exist naturally must be manufactured. You can read all about how it is done here… That is the crux of the matter. If it can’t just be squeezed out or heated or boiled to get it, then it is not natural. A good read:

Sorry, but that is baloney.

WellnessMama spreads misinformed baloney.

Don’t shame processed food.

I am well aware of the health risks associated with trans fats, but I don’t consider “Wellness Mama” a reputable source. “Toxic” and “chemical” are words with definitions; they don’t just mean “stuff we don’t like.”

Wait… it’s not DR. WellnessMama?

I’m sure her site’s been peer reviewed thoroughly :joy:

PS: I bet she’s not too crazy about eating a STO canned tuna, either, given the mercury levels, etc.

I’ve seen people cite it here before, and it just goes to show that you can find reinforcement for whatever beliefs you already have, regardless of how factual they are. I’m just gonna start a site called ConfirmationBias.com.

I checked out her certifications band where they come from. No thanks.

I bet WellnessMama would probably have a conniption if she saw that the word “baloney” was being used in the same sentence as her name, and actually being associated with her.

The irony is delicious. And utterly punny.

Well done.

I see the whole problem. Everyone refers to the same sources that lie to us. OK I get it. There is no sense me trying to help. Like I said garbage IN = garbage OUT. Academia is an agenda and nothing more. Unless it is “peer reviewed” by those same sources, it must be false. Stick to snopes for your “facts”. Follow them you have free will. I like many others use common sense and logic, besides data from history. Good luck and best wishes to all. I use what nature gave me.

How, exactly, do you square your quest for eating only “natural” foods with your affinity for Taco Bell?

“Don’t do what I do; do what I say”.

Dontcha know those Nachos Bellgrande are the food mother nature intended us to thrive on indefinitely?

And I’m sure Taco Bell uses only organic, natural fats. No preservatives, food coloring, additives or any such things. No way, José!

You just proved my point and confirmed my mission for me. My affinity for Taco Bell is the ORIGINAL Taco Bell that started with Glenn Bell aka “The Fresh Food Place” that used to be all natural ingredients freshly prepped and cooked on-site. Glenn Bell used coconut oil for all his frying needs. I seek the true Taco Bell and wish they would return. I am consistent in what I speak. Today’s Toxic Hell is an artificial facsimile. Thank you, really for that question.

You seem to have forgot about my first thread here. My whole purpose is to bring awareness to Toxic Hell’s food of today. The original Taco Bell run by Glenn Bell never used additives, preservatives, food coloring, man-made fats, etc.

But that Taco Bell is never coming back. You keep eating there and complaining about it, so obviously you don’t think it’s “toxic” enough to avoid.

Nobody else here seems anywhere near as obsessed with “how things used to be” (better, of course, all of it, no exceptions) - whether at Taco Bell or not.

But thank you for the noble gesture. I’m sure there are some who appreciate your quest/purpose to make us aware.

Not eating at chains might be a good start for you, however.
