I have a friend who was born in the country in County Mayo, Ireland. She’s been here for decades, just became a great grandmother and I have a hard time understanding her. In the real estate office where we used to work, Chinese agents would look to me to “translate.”
Also, at one time I tried to watch “The Wire” … just couldn’t understand any of it. Someone told me the only way they could watch it was with subtitles in English.
