Any recommendations for Scicli, Ragusa, Noto, Siracusa? [Sicily]

Stop wasting your life sleeping in :man_facepalming::sweat_smile:. Get out there and seize the day(and the delicious foods) !!

It’s not so much the sleeping in as the lack of appetite for the first 3-4 hours after I get up :kissing_heart:

I have no interest in food until around noon most days. I totally get it.

I’m the same way when I’m home, but when I’m on vacay, everything changes. I can eat as soon as I get up because FOMO

It doesn’t matter whether I wake up at 7, 9, or 11am — which is why lunch can be as late as 2:30 or 3pm.

You’d fit right in in Spain

The newest trend is JOMO

I normally don’t even bother looking for a place that includes breakfast unless I am in Italy. Sometimes a slice of cake can tempt me.

Bruv, there’s gotta be some food tours that have afternoon/evening tours.

I don’t go out of my way to find hotels that include breakfast or half boards, only 2 in my entire life that I can recall, one in Malaga which was cheaper to book with the half board for some bizarre reason and my recent hotel in CDMX(included in the price and delicious), both were worth getting up early for. I’m up real early, so if there’s somewhere relatively close by and serves something I can’t get at home, I’ll make the journey regardless of how early it is.

Hi,
If you have a car and willing to drive about 1.5 hour from Ragusa to Licata, there is Oasi Osteria del Mare.
This place impressed me the most on the beautiful island of Sicily.
It looks like a shack on the beach, but the delivery is incredible. Reservation is necessary. You may find the info in Slow Food guide.

That sounds incredible. We do have a rental, but that’s a three hour round-trip for a dinner, with which we would ideally prefer to have wine :grimacing:

La Madia is also in LIcata. Look for @erica1 's report. I was very sorry we had to skip it when in that area.

This year’s Slowfood App opened in English. Its always been italian in past years, but even so has always given me a pretty good idea of whats on offer and whats good to order - with the italian names its easier.
I think if you google the issue it will give you some suggestions of settings on your phone you could adjust to get english langugage on the app. For my Android/Pixel its suggesting there is a generic language setting you can makeon the phone for apps. I dont see any relevant setting in the app itself

UPDATE ON Android vo to Settings select language select Apps . i have English as my system language setting. if you scroll to Slowfood 2025 my phone lets you choose between system setting and English. hope this helps

Yeah, not me. The rest of the family feels free to get their fill.

I can’t seem to find the setting to change the language. Every time I go to preferenti, it wants me to sign up with an email and PW (as a "cuoco, produttore, or professionista — neither of which I am… I just want to eat hahaha).

's ok. We’ll figger it oot

If your phone is an android, go into your phones settings (the little gear wheel) not the app and scroll down to languages. I agree there is nothing in the app that does the trick

It’s an iPhone. I’ll look into it.

I just noticed that SCALA is a SlowFood pick, or it was in an earlier guide…
