Thanks to a timely assist from @digga we are now set with a reservation at 5pm on October 5 at Babylon Saigon. If any of you have influence over the weather, balmy breezes and no rain would allow us to enjoy the terrace.
The reservation is for 6 Onions. Thus far, we have on-deck: me, @MaxEntropy + 1, @Parsnipity, @tartandfit , @a_m . Good crew!
Let us know if anyone else can make it and I’ll try to adjust the reservation.

I might or might not have a plus one. I’ll sort that out. The deck was super roomy though so if that works, it’s no big deal. I also feel I should point out it’s Saigon Babylon, not the reverse. Just so we don’t raise eyebrows when we show up with our vast culinary acumen, but unable to state the correct restaurant name.
Also, as long as folks are okay with this-- I was thinking the current vote was for a metro West or Roxbury location, then I was willing to jump in after that dinner happened with a second mini-location more Camberville focused. I hope I did not derail a location to which some were looking forward.
I don’t think you or anyone else did. I feel like we’re spread across geographies and availability, and there was never going to be one location and date/time that worked for everyone.
I’m happy to help coordinate a get-together at Al Wadi, as it seemed like there was some interest in that too. I just can’t do anything until later October due to other responsibilities.
That reminds of the Chowhound days, when people used to add a possessive “s” to places that didn’t have them (like Regina’s instead of Pizzeria Regina, Legal’s or Dunkin’s). It used to crack me up how that pissed off some hounds. So, I can’t believe I made/propagated a big-time mistake. Thanks for the correction!

The original suggestion of Mida in Newtonville seemed to elicit yawns. Perhaps because of the location, perhaps because you can experience Douglass Williams’ Mida elsewhere. The thought of a roofdeck and T proximity, not to mention Vietnamese cuisine, won me over. I’m hoping other HO meetups will follow, mixing up geography and cuisine.

Thanks for this @digga and @MaxEntropy! As you know, the scheduling stars seem to have aligned for me. I’m in with husband accompanying (we have other stuff going on that brings us into Cambridge on October 5).
Fingers crossed that this could be the first of other meetups around the area.

I would love to join you HO folks at Babylon Saigon on Sunday evening, Oct. 5th. What time? Are peeps willing to share plates? And we’ll split the bill evenly? Not to be overly detailed, but how do you want to handle folks who order drinks - payment-wise? Just asking.
The two dishes I tried (duck leg and monkfish) are each large enough to perhaps be shareable between two people but I think it would be messy (and maybe not terribly hygienic) to share between more than that. Also how do you share a small portion of vermicelli in gravy, which accompany each of those dishes? I’m also not sure that entrees are available on the rooftop deck, only the lighter items listed in the abbreviated menu I attached above, according to the host I spoke with.
Rez is 5pm. Good question about splitting the check. Not sure the best way to do this if we grow to 10 or more. Suggestions?
Could I get a final head-count? I need to call the restaurant if we need to adjust the reservation. I’ll call Tuesday because they’re closed on Mondays.
As for the check-splitting—I guess I’m a cash-is-king kind of person so I’ll bring cash if we go that route. I also wouldn’t mind using my card and people could PayPal-Venmo me for the amount that they owe (but I know sometimes that gets complicated).
