We had another excellent dinner at Ammata Thai despite them being out of a few of our regular dishes. Besides the usually excellent Southern crab curry, lon of crab dip, Isaan Khao Tod, and the crispy betel leaves with crispy rice cake replacing the sold out betel leaves, we had Phad Phed beef with stir fried beef tenderloin, red chili paste, green peppercorn, Thai eggplant, red chili, kaffir lime leaves, string beans and Thai basil. It had a nice kick to it. We also had classic Pad Gra Pow with minced chicken, garlic, red chili, dark soy sauce, Thai basil, and holy Thai basil oil. Another dish we had was Som Tum Thai; green papaya salad with chili garlic, tomato, dried shrimp, roasted peanuts, and string beans. It had a nice kick to it. It all went great with an excellent French red blend.
