Aldi Products Yea/Meh/Nay 2025-2026

YEA for the dill pickle popcorn. At first I thought it might not be dill pickly enough, but it def is.

Thank goodness someone’s still shopping at Aldi

There was exactly one of these left. They’re ok.

I just got a bag of the BBQ popcorn and it kicks arse. $.69

I’ve liked the Park Street Deli Artichoke Stuffed Chicken, but hadn’t bought it in a while. The latest package I opened had chicken breasts in the pouch with all the “stuffing” on top of them. While it doesn’t really change the taste, the presentation is not as billed. Whether this is a one-off problem, I don’t know. (Recently, I’ve also had problems–not at Aldi–with one can of soda in a case being empty, and my 8-ounce tub of butter having only 6 ounces. Things are definitely going downhill in general.)

Yea for the canned coffees (vanilla cream and black) – These went to clearance, so I doubt they’ll be back.

Yea for the refrigerated fresh-pressed strawberry lemonade. Pretty amazing and well worth the $2.49. Made a nice sorbet.

Yea for the chicken Bratwursts. A decent mild sausage.

YAY for the Aldi burrata. Same if not better quality than TJ’s (which we love).

Yes, it has cream powder in it. DuckDuckGo is your friend.

DuckDuckGo can tell me how it tastes, and whether buying it is worth it?

I’ve never used it, so I have no idear :woman_shrugging:t2:

Yea for the Cheese Club Mac and cheese white cheddar shells with chickpea pasta. I can’t really tell the difference under all the sauce and it’s got better protein and fiber stats. It’s a bit salty but it might be because I salted the pasta water. I’ll buy it again. Scratches the junk food itch.

Had the same problem with the stuffed chicken when I bought it recently (a month or so ago, first visit to Aldi since 2022). Looked nothing like the pic. First time to try any of the PSD offerings. Re-heating the leftovers left the chicken overcooked and dried out. I had no business purchasing that size product for a one person household with a reduced appetite because of age and hiatal hernia. Also tried the PSD Teriyaki Udon with chicken - NAY! Way too sweet for an entree for me. Also, the noodles didn’t qualify as udon from my experience - way too thin. I used up the leftovers in small portions as sides, not an entree.

I moved very slowly, needing to look for things and look at labels. Took me 75 mins to get through the store and I completely skipped the regular freezer section because I thought I had all my fridge, freezer and pantry could handle! Hah. I’m very out of practice at shopping in person - I do almost everything online/curbside pickup style now.

I’ve been having the problem with empty sodas in a pack - going back several years to some Diet Coke - one empty by the time I got home with it, then 3 others in the 12 pack turned out to be under-filled (or leaking?) More recently with a Zero Sugar Cherry Coca Cola and a Zero Sugar Kroger root beer.

I find the PSD dishes are two servings for me (and I’m not a big eater). So I eat half of it (with a starch or vegetable side) one days and then the other half two days later. I liked the Chicken with White Wine Pepper Sauce a lot (so naturally they seem to have discontinued it), as well as the Korean BBQ Ribs, and the Sweet Chipotle Pork Ribs. It sounds like the Artichoke Chicken Breast is falling off my list, and I didn’t like the Burnt Pork Ends, Chicken Vindaloo, Sliced Beef Brisket, Broccoli Chicken Breast, Pork Carnitas, Pulled Brisket|Pork|Chicken, Chicken Fajitas, Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken, or Hawaiian Style Pork Ribs. (I avoid beef and the rest were either too sweet or too salty.) I also don’t get Thai Coconut Chicken, which is very good, but cheaper at Costco (especially on sale).

It’s Deutsche Woche at Aldi! That means several German cookies & chocolate waffles are back, as are the Erdnussflips / peanut curls, braised red cabbage, a bunch of seasoned Spätzle variations. Not this one, which I also didn’t buy.

Good news: the Tête de Moine is back in the refrigerated section :woman_dancing:

Has anyone tried these?

Tried those peanut curls for the first time. YAY! I also buy those bags of spaetzle. YAY!

Erdnussflips are the go-to party snack in Germany.

I can see why. Perfect! Love the German name.
