I used to be able to buy these. They aren’t bad, particularly if you just judge them for themselves rather than compare to abalone. I haven’t seen them in the market for years. Will ask my monger for them. Thanks.
Sorry this is so late, but I skipped this dish. I went to order and it was $20/lb (which was ok with me even though this stuff is from Taiwan). But the shipping was $30 from 300 miles away, with an additional $10 if I wanted it packed with dry ice.
That’s $20 per serving raw (which is about what I paid for the finished dish with sides in the restaurant I loved so dearly). Just couldn’t bring myself to do it.
