It is funny now, but it is a reminder to me to try to look at the world from another’s viewpoint.

If by ‘at the moment’ you mean over 100 years, yes, genocide is a very touchy subject.
However, I made the best lahmajun I’ve ever had even though I winged it and didn’t really write it down. Subsequent attempts have not been so successful. Sigh.
That’s more political than I want to get. The history of the disintegration of the Ottoman Empire is a complicated subject. I highly recommend David Fromkin’s “The Peace to End All Peace.”

I went back for the spiced eggs and beef as you suggested. WoW! What a dish. It was everything I could have hoped for. The crispy potatoes around the edge really make it sing. It’s not actually spicy, so I complemented it with some sriracha that was on a side table. I loved this dish.
