Yellow chartreuse alternative?

Just curious if anyone has found a good yellow chartreuse alternative. Both chartreuses are tough to find consistently, but I’m currently OK with the green at this moment. Also, I’ve heard Dolin’s green substitute isn’t too bad; I might end up trying that one day.

But I haven’t heard anything about a substitute for the yellow, of which I basically have 1 ounce left. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

This article has some ideas:

I haven’t tried the subs, since I’ve been able to get Chartreuse without too much trouble (I only keep the green on hand).

They briefly mention Strega as a possible replacement for the yellow, which is what I’m looking for. The article is entirely focused on green. Just clarifying so others don’t click the article thinking they’re going to get multiple ideas on yellow replacements.

Well, there are two. Strega and Combier Élicser (you have to read the picture caption).

Strega doesn’t taste particularly like yellow Chartreuse IMHO. Strega is much lighter in both color and texture, much more saffron-focused. Not nearly as delicious. I guess it depends on use case, straight sipping vs in a cocktail.

Where are you located? Chartreuse at this point has largely re-appeared around here (Boston area). Slightly higher prices than two years ago (~$70-75), not quite back everywhere yet but easy enough to find. Have you tried ordering online?

Edit: Just checked the online stock of the local store I usually use and although I saw some yellow there a few weeks ago they’re now listing it as sold out, so maybe I overstated the supply level here. (They still do have some green, apparently.)

I’m not super familiar with Strega, but familiar enough that I raised an eyebrow at that suggestion. I would use it only in a cocktail. It’s sweeter, too, right?

I’m sure I could find some around here at some point. It would be nice not to spend $70-80, but I don’t use it often so I guess I would justify it that way. I can’t even remember when I purchased this last bottle.
