Picked mushrooms not so much
Not much of a story, but in my home WI, the brandy old fashioned become a staple after Korbel bros. came to the world fair in Chicago (forget the year) to introduce their products to the upper midwest. Milwaukee is a little more than an hour north of chicago, and Korbel knows WI just enjoys drinking culture. The BOF is still the choice cocktail at supper clubs and bars throughout the badger state. It’s become ubiquitous. Now, our brave legislators want to make it our official cocktail. As a taxpayer in WI, I’d really wish they’d pursue actual legislation that matters. Just sayin’. But, it’s nice to distract with foolishness.
I have never seen one with pickled mushrooms in it, and I’ve seen a sht ton of them. never seen a mushroom in a BOF. The brandy does work well, Tex, if you’ll try one.
