Wine production in France to decline in 2016

Bad weather…

This year is really bad, especially for the Burgundy region, it was -6°C and 100% humidity during the flowering period in mi-April, the lost is estimated to be around 30%. A 2016 Bourgogne millésime will be a rare item.

Well if you’ve ever had the 2 Euro for 4L special in PVC from the local Hypermarchet it’s possible that this may not be a bad thing. :fearful:

Btw I’ve always wondered how the French can do that. It must have something to do with EU subsidies for wine growers.

I further understand that the PVC of my youth may have been replaced by the tetra Pak foil carton
