When you know that the company that owns the Miller & Carter steakhouse chain also owns Harvester and Toby Carvery, you may well go with low expectations. But you’d be wrong. In fact, they do very decent steaks. Not fantastic ones. But very decent and good value ones.
Only one of us wanted a starter. Bits of squid, heavily battered and served with a black garlic aioli. Pretty tasteless and not something to repeat. But things were definitely about to buck up.
We both went with sirloins. One from their 30 day aged range, the other from the 50 day. Both come with fries, a slice of onion loaf, tomato, dressed iceberg wedge and a choice of sauces. They come cooked bang on for accuracy as requested and were well flavoured. Accompaniments all worked well.
Decent steak. Decent lunch.
