I am with you on the post entry editing, Phoenikia. Sorry, Natascha!
I edit my entries a good bit because i either have more to say than i thought at first or i see ways to make the verbiage flow a bit better. I think the one hour limit is a good restriction, though. Forces me to finish my work on time! Kind of…
I learned basic Italian when i had an Italian Girlfriend who lived near her parents. I ended up using my limited Italian w her parents rather than w her. She felt speaking Italian was a chore reserved for her parents, i think.
We broke up a couple years ago and my Italian is basically gone now. I have been thinking about renewing my Babbel Italian membership before i go there next month but am still procrastinating. I think i could relearn it faster than i learned it the first time.
I plan on being in Italy for a month but if i spoke the langyage even marginally i could see staying another month.
No need for you to apologize, either. I understand being eager to share one’s thoughts immediately, then realizing “but wait… there’s MOAR” – but it does make replying a little difficult when comments are changed significantly afterwards, or while other people are in the process of replying. Because then they have to often edit their replies, too. AN ENDLESS CYCLE OF EDITING!
It is my personal preference to sort my thoughts, type them out… and reread them a few times before I hit post.
I know I’ve said this before, but I like to think it bears repeating. I’d been dating my husband about a year before I heard him speak “Jamaican” to his family on the phone. I was like
( shout out to @Desert-Dan for telling me how to access brown emoticons! I was looking for shocked or surprised but they are really small and I can’t really see them.).
Ooops! It was @MrGuyGuyGuy
Or, did you go to a ‘Porsche’ girls’school?
I’m trying to come up with a way to work Audi in here.
Can you share that information with me too please? Earlier I was able to change the emoticon colours by clicking the ‘shade card’ at the bottom of the panel, but lately that’s not working for me. (This emoticon here I had used previously when the feature still worked for me. Newer ones I click I cannot change the colour).
Ooops! It was @MrGuyGuyGuy
Understood, thank you. That’s why my yellow emojis were not changing. I will stop wasting time and effort trying.
OK, giving into the thread drift of accent and pronunciation, I came across this and now want to share. Not weighing in, but he really is solid and it’s enjoyable.
Thank you so much for sharing, that was hella fun! Armisen’s a bit much for me sometimes, but I greatly enjoyed it.
A tour of the South.
OMG, this is one of my PIC’s favorite skits of all time!! It’s brilliant!
one of my favourites.

Amazing that you have that kind of flexibility. We were hoping with the onset of virtual work that we’d get out and see more of the world. But we still have a kid in school, so are restricted to his school breaks. And frankly, even when he’s off to college, travelling ain’t cheap. There’s a reason most people (?) might take a big trip every couple of years or smaller ones a bit more often. All those travel expenses, plus paying your own mortgage while the house sits empty. How do you manage to get away for 1-2 months?

I may’ve told this story on here before. Maybe not. I also went to a posh school, but our “lower” campus did not have nearly the facilities of our “upper campus” for sports, so they regularly bussed us back and forth for PE. I was sitting on the bus with a friend and we were talking about belly buttons. Don’t know why. Innies and outies. Another girl sitting behind us and apparently doing a poor job of eavesdropping popped up over the back of our seat to inform us that her mom had 2. Outies. Ahem, Audis. Eventually I also grew up and had 2.
That’s perfect!

I only lasted a year at the “posh” school. I hope that wasn’t inappropriate! I can’t really see these emoticons. Is that just me?
Sasha, i have been lucky. I had a career i really liked (Realtor) for 25 years that allowed me to travel when i wanted. When the job started to turn into a pain, Covid hit, so i retired a bit early and sold my split level home in Northern Virginia and bought a contemporary one on the Chesapeake Bay in MD that worked better for my older dog, Soot. One level living was a requirement for her aging hips and she loved living near the water. She was the only Lab i know that refused to swim but that is another story. Then Soot passed which hit me pretty hard. My girlfriend of 18 years and i parted ways around the same time, another jolt. So most of my ties to the East Coast were severed.
I was lucky on both home sales so i decided to take another, slower, RTW trip with several bucket list destinations and a few old favorites.
I gave away most of my stuff, kept just my clothes, my Weber grill, my car and my bike, all of which i put into storage in Montana. I have a 45L pack and a 15L carry on and i have everything i need for 7 or 8 months of travel.
I miss my friends on the East Coast but i missed Montana the entire time i was out East. So i will go home for branding in May, get my gear and car out of storage and find a new home near my Montana friends.
The photo is of Soot telling me she wanted to stay in her snow fort.
Soot wearing her Thanksgiving collar.
I apologize for the thread drift!
Sounds like you’ve had a lot of changes over 3 years.
Will you be living near Bozeman or Whitefish?
