Even if they are the same scallops, there are so many links in the supply chain that may affect pricing and add up along the way. The harvesters, the packers, the distributors, the deliverers and the sellers all have rising labor and materials expenses. And, stuff happens - a warehouse has to close due to a Covid outbreak, a fire at a dairy stops butter production, etc.
