Who's ONION RINGS and FRIES are the best?

I cannot swallow cold pancakes for some reason. They lodge in my throat.

We forgot this “staple” of a “progressive dinner” consisting of drink and order of half and half at the bar of any Palm Restaurant, and then on to non-steak dinner:

Alright, now you’ve hit a soft spot. Five Guys are okay, but the frickin psycho amount they give you when you buy medium fries is borderline offensive. Really? Couple of pounds of fries for me to toss? I dunno.

Agree 100% on the other two, though.

I had Culver’s onion rings again yesterday. Maybe just slightly better than Freddy’s. They’re both pretty good. Also had a ButterBurger, good. And I had their beef vegetable soup for the first time, also good. Drive through then pull forward and wait for them to bring out the order. Aaaaaaand they forgot to bring my soup, so I had to alert the order-bringer-outer about that. 2/5 on getting my orders correct so far. Still, I like Culver’s food enough to continue to go there.

For a variety of reason I ended up at BK. Late night drive, fast food the only thing open at the time so we picked BK. I decided to try the onion rings. OMG, some of the nastiest stuff I’ve tasted in a very long time. Mealy mushy mass of chemically onion flavored crap not really enhanced by deep frying. I ate a few and threw the rest away. This has confirmed that whenever the OP opines as to the way something tastes, its about a 180 degrees different for me. I recommend staying far away from BK onion rings. The BK fries were much better.

They’re pricey, but the best onion rings are at Red Robin.

Been a long time since I’ve been to Red Robin (closest one now is an hour away) but was always happy with their food.

Our BK here does not change their oil. Nuff said. I won’t stop at a BK anywhere. This wasn’t the case in the 80’s when our first BK opened. I loved the veal parm when I was in my early teens. Fries and rings were good. Now, I live in a different town, but every BK I’ve tried the last decade has rancid fries/rings/chicken tenders. Change the dang oil!

Red Robin is sort of the Culver’s of the south. Everything’s pretty good. They haven’t shown me any major weaknesses.

I’m still a sucker for the Popeye’s chicken sandwich. Those two pickles and spicy mayo do it for me.

There are a couple of them reasonably close to me (I just looked). Never been to one; don’t know any of my friends or acquaintances who’ve ever been to one. Not that they’ve mentioned. I’m totally unfamiliar … or totally out of touch, more likely.
