Who does the heavy lifting in your household?

Growing up, my mother was in charge of the dishwasher so I never learned the proper way to stack it. On my own, for many years, I didn’t have a dishwasher and that was fine.

I have one now … somehow I think this should be brought up in high school. I guess I’d get a C - from some of you re my stacking skills. Most of the time, I find it easier just to hand wash, dry and put away dishes.

I have 3 women doctors: the kidney specialist is single but my primary and my cardiologist that I see once a year, they tell me that their husbands do all the cooking. Seems like they have it all worked out.

Years ago I met a man, a lawyer. His wife worked, no kids. He said he cooked two nights a week, she 2 nights and for the remaining 3 they’d get takeout or eat in a restaurant. I thought that was very sensible.

I once had a friend who was raised in a small town in the middle of England. His parents came for a visit and were shocked by how much Americans eat out. He said his parents in England only go out to eat about twice a year!
