All of a sudden, the icons for things like “search” and “upload” are white-on-white in Safari on my Mac. ( It looks okay in Chrome, but I don’t use Chrome.) I’m not seeing this on other sites, and I don’t think I’ve change colors or anything like that. I can see what they are by scanning over the areas and getting the alternate text, which assumes I know where they are on the screen.
Nothing changed on the software/ configuration end. Try clearing the cache or restarting the browser/ computer?
Cleared the cache, cleared the cookies, restarted the browser, and have recently (since this started) restarted the computer. This is not the only site that doesn’t play well with Safari (CapitalOne comes to mind).
The picture in your post is showing every profile picture loading.
Try going to meta.discourse.org and see if you have the same problem. If it persists, then its a software issue that’s not specific to any site.
Same problem. Also the icons in the notifications pull-down menu for me, if that matters.
Well, I just upgraded my iMac to Ventura (from Monterey), which also upgraded Safari, and now the icons are visible again. Make of that what you will.
Updates can be helpful?
I have been trying for two years to update/upgrade, but kept getting verification errors. Finally it worked!
Yay!
