Where to find monk fruit in the SF bay area?

Does anyone know where to find fresh monk fruit in the bay area? I’m looking for the actual fruit, not the powdered sweetener. Since it’s from China, I was thinking that maybe Asian markets may carry it. Thanks!

Never seen it available fresh. According to the wikipedia page, it is both difficult to grow and does not store well when fresh, and thus is rarely consumed this way even in China.

I feel like I have seen the fruit in the past in dried form at Chinese medicinal herb shops. (Edit: some further checking suggests that virtually all monkfruit cultivation is done in China; it even appears that Chinese law prohibits the export of monkfruit seeds and DNA out of China.)

The friend who was looking for it found it at Ranch 99 in Richmond. He’s going to use it to make gummi bears!
